Betting Odds: Cavs -6.5 (-115) - Over/Under (229.5)

Pick: Cavs -6.5 (-115)

Wednesday night takes us to Cleveland where the Utah Jazz will face off against their former superstar Donovan Mitchell as they look to pick up a much-needed momentum boosting victory early on in the regular season. Both of these teams came into this season with high expectations, and both of them have arguably been very underwhelming throughout the early part of the regular season as well. They will look to grab a victory against each other here on Wednesday night as they look to get things on track into the last two weeks of 2023 and they will look to maintain that momentum heading into the early part of 2024 as well.

Utah came into this season with expectations of being a contender within the Western Conference but that has clearly not been the case for them throughout the early part of the season. They come into this game seven games below the .500 mark and they have been dealing with plenty of injury issues throughout the early part of the regular season as well. They will get things going in the right direction with quality performance here on Wednesday night in Cleveland against the Cavaliers as they look to pick up a victory over their old friend Donovan Mitchell here in this one in the process.

It’ll certainly be no easy task for Utah, who have struggled on the road throughout the early part of the regular season, and they will look to get things going in the right direction with a much-needed victory here in this one against Cleveland. They do have a little bit of momentum coming into this game after blowing out the Brooklyn Nets in their last game and they will look to parlay that momentum into a second consecutive victory here on Wednesday night against Cleveland. They have won three out of their last four on the year, and they will look to keep that momentum rolling throughout this game on Wednesday night against the Cavaliers.

It has been a roller coaster of a season for the Cleveland Cavaliers throughout the early part of the year as they have dealt with injuries and several other issues. However, they still come into this game with a winning record, and they will look to further extend that winning record with a quality performance here at home on Wednesday night against the Utah Jazz. They’ve been a very tough team to beat at home this season, and they will look to further prove that narrative to be true with another quality performance here at home on Wednesday night as well.

As they look to cool down the Utah Jazz, heading into the last two weeks of December, and Cleveland looks to build up some momentum of their own in the process. They will be shorthanded here in this one, as they will be without Darius Garland and Evan Mobley once again, as both of them are set to miss an extended amount of time. Which means more responsibility, will fall on the shoulders of Donovan Mitchell playing against his former team, and he will certainly look to step up and deliver here in this one against the Utah jazz on Wednesday night. We have seen it many times throughout his career that he is more than capable of stepping up to the plate and delivering when he’s needed the most, and he will be looking to do that once again here in this one for Cleveland.

Betting trends to consider in this matchup:

- Utah is 2-12 on the road

- Cleveland is 8-6 at home

- Utah is 2-3 against the East

I expect this to be a close and competitive game here on Wednesday night in Cleveland but in the end I do look for the Cleveland Cavaliers to pick up the victory at home. They have been very tough to beat at home this season and I look for that narrative to continue being true as I look for Cleveland to post a solid win here at home against Utah. I look for this game to be the Donovan Mitchell show as I look for him to put up quality numbers against his former team here on Wednesday night and I look for him to score 30+ points to lead Cleveland to much-needed victory early on in the regular season.
