We always knew Shaheen Holloway was going to have a rough time in his first year at the helm. It is going to take a few years for him to recruit high-quality players in their to contend with the best in the Big East. On the bright side for Pirates fans, after starting Conference play 1-4, they have since won 3 games in a row (2-0-1 ATS) to boost them to the middle of the rankings for the time being. This game will be a real test for them as they will see a much better opponent than they have faced in the past few games against the bottom-feeders of the Big East. On offense, they will struggle to score on the perimeter, something they have been hard done by all year so far. As they face against Sanogo and Karaban on the interior in this matchup, they will have to find a different way to score the basketball which will be difficult. On defense, Holloway sets them up with one of the best defenses in guarding spot-up shooters, ranking in the 99% percentile in that category. With KC Ndefo being an elite defender for Seton Hall down low, UConn will have to go out of their comfort zone in order to score consistently if they want to secure a Conference win on the road.
