Wednesday night takes us to one of the most historic venues and all of college basketball as these two top 20 teams in the country face off for conference supremacy. As the Tennessee Volunteers hit the road to play the North Carolina Tar Heels in Chapel Hill and both of these teams will be looking for a quality résumé building victory early on in the season. Both of these teams are off to respectable starts this season but only one of them can come out on top in this game on Wednesday night in Chapel Hill. This should arguably be the best game of the evening and a loaded slate of college basketball here on Wednesday night as both of these teams look to wrap up the month of November strong.
Tennessee is off to a quality start to the regular season and they come into this game ranked 10th in the country. They will be looking to add a huge résumé building victory onto their record with a quality performance here on Wednesday night on the road in Chapel Hill against the North Carolina Tar Heels. Every nonconference victory is just as important for Tennessee as they play in one of the toughest conferences in the country and they will need to build up as best of a résumé as they can just in case they do not win their conference tournament this season.
However, this Tennessee team has a lot of potential as long as they can remain healthy and consistent throughout the regular season. They are coming off of a rather tough week with back-to-back losses to two of the top teams in the country during the Maui Invitational Tournament. Now they will be looking to bounce back and get back into the win column here against North Carolina on Wednesday. Tennessee is a team that is more than capable of competing with the top teams in the country and they have an opportunity to prove that with a statement victory against North Carolina here on Wednesday night on the road in one of the toughest environments in the sport of college basketball.

The North Carolina Tar Heels are off to a quality start to the regular season and they will be looking to maintain that quality start with a solid victory here on Wednesday Wednesday night at home against Tennessee. North Carolina comes into this game as winners of five of their first six games of the regular season, and they will be looking for their sixth victory of the year here on Wednesday night at home against another top team in the country. North Carolina has plenty of momentum coming into this game after picking up a victory over Arkansas in their previous contest, and they have one four out of their last five on the season as well.
This is a North Carolina team that was arguably underrated coming into the regular season, and they have one of the best players in the country on their roster as well. As Armando Bacot has been incredible throughout the early part of the regular season, and RJ Davis has been on another level as well, and if both of those players can remain healthy and consistent throughout the year then North Carolina opposes a serious national title threat. They will be looking to prove that narrative true with a victory over the number 10 team in the country here on Wednesday night at home as they look to take down Tennessee in this ACC/SEC conference challenge.
Betting trends to consider in this matchup:
- North Carolina is 3-0 at home
- North Carolina is 1-0 against ranked teams
- Tennessee is 0-2 against ranked teams
I expect this to be a close and competitive game between these two quality teams here in Chapel Hill on Wednesday night. Both of these teams are capable of making tournament runs this season as long as they remain healthy and consistent throughout the year. I expect this game to potentially go down to the final buzzer, but in the end I do look for North Carolina to pick up the victory at home. They have one of the toughest crowds in the country and I think they will make the difference in this game late in the contest here on Wednesday and help lead the Tar Heels to a huge win early in the season.
