Week seven for the Pac-12 conference kicks off with this huge matchup on Friday night at Folsom Field in Boulder as the Stanford Cardinal travel to Colorado to play Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes. It has been an awful year for Stanford and Colorado is in the middle of the pack of the conference so both teams will be looking for a crucial conference victory here on Friday night to kick off the second half of the college football season.

It has been a long season so far for the Stanford Cardinal, as they come into this game with only one victory in their first five games of the year. With another loss here on Friday night on the road to Colorado it would all but officially eliminate them from the Pac-12 title race and likely mean they will miss out on a bowl game altogether this season as it is very unlikely that this team will pull together five victories in a row to close the season if they lose here tonight against the Buffaloes.

Stanford has been disappointing several times over the last multiple seasons, and they are enduring one of the worst periods in the history of their football program. A marquee win like this over a school that is garnering national detention. Could hopefully turn the team around throughout the remainder of the season, and give them plenty of momentum as well. Stanford has had a problem stopping dynamic quarterbacks, which was shown by the fact that they were blown out by USC earlier this season. They will likely have a hard time stopping Sanders during this game, but if they can find a way to do so, they have an opportunity to grab a huge upset victory on the road.

The Colorado Buffaloes will be looking for their second consecutive victory as they are entering a weaker part of their schedule after coming off of back-to-back games against Oregon and USC a couple weeks ago. Colorado had a huge come from behind victory against Arizona State last weekend and they will be looking to put together a full game worth of momentum in this one to avoid having to wait until the final second to grab a victory like they did last weekend.

There has been a lot of hypes surrounding this Colorado program ever since Deion Sanders took over as the head coach, and despite a pair of losses to two of the best teams in the country, they still have looked pretty solid throughout their other four games on the year. They will be looking to grab their fifth victory of the season here on Friday night at home, as well as keep themselves in the upper echelon of the Pac 12 standings heading into the second half of the season. Colorado will also be looking to further establish a changing of the guard within their program after so many people have started to doubt them after the losses to USC and Oregon over the past month.

Betting trends to consider in this matchup:

- Colorado is 3-2-1 against the spread

- Colorado is 2-1 against the spread at home

- Stanford is 1-1 against the spread on the road

I expect Colorado to pick up the victory in this game over Stanford at home as I look for the Colorado Buffaloes to get off to a hot start here on Friday night against a struggling Stanford team. In the end, I look for Colorado and not only pick up a comfortable victory to win their fifth game of the season, but I also expect them to cover the spread in this game as well.
