Betting Odds: Timberwolves (-1) / Over/Under (237)

Pick: Kings (+1)

In a battle of Western Conference foes, on Monday night we get a rematch of a game we saw 2 nights ago, when the Sacramento Kings head into Minnesota to take on the Timberwolves in the Target Center.

Sacramento has been in a bit of a slump of late, losing 3 of their last 4 games (1-3 ATS in this stretch). Just last game, they lost against the T-Wolves by 7; a game where they shot an uncharacteristic 27% from the three-point line. If they are to get back on track tonight, they will have to sure up their shooting game big time. When the Kings made one of the biggest trades of the summer to acquire Domantas Sabonis, I'm not sure even they thought he would fit in this seamlessly with the current squad. He is currently averaging 18.5 PTS, 12.4 REB, 7.3 AST, and is shooting 60.8% from the field. He has been a dominant force all season long, and has partnered with De'Aaron Fox to make one of the best duos in the league. Can Mike Brown make the right adjustments to grab a win on the road against the Timberwolves to split the away trip in Minnesota?

The Timberwolves started the year slowly, but have managed to pick it up of late. They have now won 5 out of their last 7 games, and have covered in all but 1 of those games. Even though they have not gotten respect from Las Vegas, being the underdog and winning in all of their 3 last games, they have shut out the noise and won all 3 by a combined 27 points. Anthony Edwards continues to thrive in January, putting up a whopping 34 points on 14-21 shooting last time out against the Kings. If they are able to get contributions from D'Angelo Russell and Rudy Gobert on a daily basis while Karl-Anthony Towns is out, they could be a tough out for anyone in the West. If they are to win their 4th game in a row, they'll have to be at their best again, as it is difficult to beat any team two times in a row in the NBA.

A few betting trends to consider in this matchup:

- The Kings are 20-7-1 playing on 1 day rest

- Sacramento is 5-2 ATS in their last 7 road games

- Minnesota is 10-21 ATS when they are playing on equal rest as the opposing team

- The over has only hit in 6 out of 21 games that the Kings have played on the road

I fully expect the Kings to exact some revenge on the T-Wolves in this game. In Saturday night's matchup, the Kings were extremely cold from deep and the Timberwolves shot close to 50% from three-point range. This will balance itself out in this game and the underrated duo of Sabonis and Fox will get back to work. Having won 3 in a row, it could be tempting to pick the home team, but they can't stay hot for forever, and this is the game where they will cool off. I love for the Kings to leave Minnesota feeling good about themselves after a substantial win.
