Game Info: Sunday, March 12, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. EST (Bridgestone Arena)

Betting Odds: Alabama (-4) / Over/Under (145.5)

Pick: Texas A&M (+4)

As Selection Sunday comes upon us, let's settle the SEC Championship Final game before we see the field seedings in the tournament with a thrilling matchup between the Texas A&M Aggies and the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Texas A&M has played as well as any team in the country over the last month. They have won 10 out of their last 11 games (10-1 ATS in that stretch), and have played themselves into securing a high seed in March Madness. Whoever has been put in front of them, they have been able to pass the test with ease, including securing a win versus the Crimson Tide last week by a score of 67-61. Star guard, Wade Taylor IV, has elevated his game to new heights during their torrid run, putting in 20+ points in 6 out of his last 9 games played. With Alabama seeking instant revenge a week later, a clutch performance from Taylor IV could surely prevent that from happening. Although the Aggies do not pose as much of a threat on the offensive end as the Tide do, averaging 9.4 less PPG than Alabama, in my eyes, they boast the superior defense. If they can force Alabama into settling from three all day long, the Aggies will be in the driver's seat from start to finish.

Alabama has played as a true contender to cut down the nets all campaign long. With a 16-2 Conference record, they were able to top the SEC standings just above the Aggies, who they will face on Sunday. Although there are conflicting views on whether or not superstar forward, Brandon Miller, should be playing, he has been implemented right back into the lineup after his ongoing controversies off of the court. In the Semifinal game against the Missouri Tigers, he put in an impressive performance, scoring 20 points and adding 12 rebounds as well. If the Tide expects to take home the title and get the best revenge possible on the Aggies off of last week's crushing loss, Miller will need to show up once again when the lights are bright. Coming in with the 6th highest-scoring offense in the country, Head Coach Nate Oats will need to set up a better plan for his squad come tipoff on Sunday, as they were held under their season average last week in Reed Arena by over 20 points.

Betting trends to consider in this matchup:

- Texas A&M is 10-1 ATS in their last 11 games

- Alabama is 2-4 ATS in their last 6 games

- The Aggies are 4-0 ATS against ranked opponents

- The over has hit in 4 of 6 games that the Crimson Tide have played at a neutral site

Alabama will be locked in from the start as they attempt to lock in their 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament. Despite this, the Aggies are playing like a truly complete team right now. They have shown no weaknesses on either side of the court in the last month and were able to handle the Tide down the stretch in last week's game. It will be a tough test to beat a top-5 team twice in one week, but if any team can do it, Buzz William's squad is more than capable of doing that. Give me the Aggies to keep this one mighty close!
