The first game of the series between Pittsburgh and Toronto, was a low scoring contest late into the night. Mitch Keller comes into this game with a record of 6-3 on the season and he will look for his seventh victory of the season. Pittsburgh was the hottest team in the National League throughout the first month of the year, and they will look to recapture that run of play throughout the early part of June. They are 5-5 in their last ten games and they will look to get back into the win column with a solid performance from Keller on the mound here on Saturday.

The Toronto Blue Jays were a team that had aspirations of competing for a World Series over the last couple of seasons. However, they have been rather disappointing over that span, and they were even talking about blowing everything up and going into a rebuild within the next season or two if things don’t turn around. They play in one of the most competitive divisions of baseball, and with every loss, their chances of making the postseason this year, get lower and lower compared to teams like Baltimore in New York that they are chasing for a division title right now.
If Toronto ends up blowing up their talented roster, they could greatly benefit some of the other playoff teams around baseball as they are plenty of key pieces to go around. It is just rather unfortunate that it did not work out for the Toronto Blue Jays after such a promising future. Yusei Kikuchi will get the baseball for the Blue Jays and the second game of this series on Saturday afternoon, and he will look to lead them with their second consecutive victory of the series as well. This weekend could be a solid starting point for Toronto to get things going in the right direction throughout the summer and get them back into playoff contention if they can continue picking up victories.

Much like we saw on Friday night I am expecting another low scoring and competitive game in the second game of the series on Saturday. I look for the Toronto Blue Jays to come away with the victory to clinch the series after a stellar outing by Keller and Kikuchi. I could easily see this game being low scoring once again, and going into extra innings for the second consecutive night in a row as well. But in the end, I look for a similar result as I have the Blue Jays winning a close game.
