These two teams put on a great show in the opening game of this first round series, as the New York Knicks came out on top. Now both teams will look to grab a victory here on Monday night before the series heads to Philadelphia for game three and game four later this week. This could be a pivotal turning point in the series, depending on who picks up the victory here in this one. As two of the most star teams in the East meet for the second time in the first round of the postseason.
The Philadelphia 76ers came into this season with plenty of expectations, despite all the controversy surrounding the exit of James Harden. They ended up catching fire throughout the middle of the season and getting themselves in a position to compete for the postseason and an NBA championship. Things were good in the first game of the series until Joel Embiid pulled off an incredible and managed to injure himself in the process. He will likely push through the pain and play throughout the rest of the series, but it will severely hinder his ability to perform, and it could end up costing Philadelphia in a major way throughout the rest of the series against the New York Knicks.
They will look for a way to bounce back in game number two despite holding Jalen Brunson to a minimal performance in the first game and still coming up on the wrong side of the contest. If they lose this second game here in New York City they will have a tough uphill climb going home for the next two rather than being able to take a breath and relax heading into the next two games. If Philadelphia can get this victory they have a solid chance of pulling ahead of New York before they return to Madison Square Garden in a couple weeks. It’ll be interesting to see how Joel Embiid performed with his lingering injury and they will need players like Tyrese Maxey to step up even further if they want to get the job done here in this one.

Despite a less than ideal performance from Jalen Brunson in the opening game of this series, he still did enough to leave the New York Knicks to a victory over Philadelphia. Now he will look to replicate and improve upon that performance and game number two of the series here on Monday night as New York looks to take a two to nothing lead over Philadelphia. As they continue to control their own destiny on their own court where they’ve been so tough to be this season at the world’s most famous Arena.
They will need Jalen Brunson to put up a more spectacular type of performance throughout this game if they really want to be successful in this one otherwise it may be another nailbiter throughout the entire entirety of the contest. Luckily enough for the New York Knicks their supporting cast stepped up in a big way throughout the first game, and that is another thing they will need throughout the rest of the series. If they can get production from their supporting cast like they did in the game of the series, it could carry them deep into the playoffs and potentially even to the NBA finals this season.
