Betting Odds: Cavs -2.5 (-115) - Over/Under (194.5)

Pick: Cavs -2.5 (-115)

This will be the first game seven of this year’s NBA playoffs as the Orlando Magic head to Cleveland off the back of their incredible game six victory at home. This will certainly be another close and competitive matchup in a series and first round that has been full of some of the best games we’ve seen all season long. Only one team can advance throughout the first six games of this series. The home team is undefeated which bodes well for the Cleveland Cavaliers throughout this game on Sunday afternoon. The winner of this game here on Sunday afternoon will advance to the second round of the postseason to face off with the Boston Celtics. Where they will be on the road for the opening two games at TD Garden.

The Orlando Magic fought off a 50 point performance from Donovan Mitchell in their game six victory against the Cleveland Cavaliers earlier this week. Former number one overall Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner put up incredible numbers at home like they did in game three and game four in Orlando earlier in the series. However, the issue for them has been their inability to repeat and replicate those performances on the road in Cleveland. That is something they will certainly need to do here on Sunday afternoon if the Orlando Magic want to pick up another victory and hand the home team in this series, their first loss in the final game of the series.

Orlando has been very consistent at home this series, but they’ve been unable to carry that momentum on the road with them and that is something they will have to do if they want to survive throughout the postseason and if they manage to grab the victory here on Sunday. They will need to find an answer for Donovan Mitchell and they will need to continue shutting down the rest of the Cavaliers supporting cast, and if they can accomplish at least one of those goals they have a really good shot coming out with a victory here on Sunday.

It all comes down to this for the Cleveland Cavaliers as they look to remain undefeated at home throughout the playoffs and pick up a much-needed victory here and game seven on Sunday afternoon. This could be a franchise altering game for the Cleveland Cavaliers as it could affect their future plans and the future of Donovan Mitchell as well. He put up a superhero like performance and their loss on the road in Orlando earlier this week as he scored 50 points and he was the only person to put the ball in the bucket for Cleveland in the fourth quarter.

That is not something that can happen throughout this game on Sunday afternoon, otherwise Cleveland will find themselves on the losing end of this contest and they will be going home for the rest of the year. Missing Jaret Allen has really hurt Cleveland throughout the last few games of this series and he is unlikely to go here on Sunday as well, which could play huge into the outcome of this game. They will need some other players like Evan Mobley and especially Darius Garland to step up alongside Donovan Mitchell if they want to be successful here at home and advance to the second round against Boston.

Betting trends to consider in this matchup:

- Cleveland is 28-15 at home

- Cleveland is 23-13 after losses

- Orlando is 18-26 on the road

I expect this to be a close and competitive match up here on Sunday afternoon in Cleveland between the Magic and Cavaliers. I easily see this game going down to the wire and potentially even into overtime as well, as Donovan Mitchell and Darius Garland battle back-and-forth with Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner throughout the contest. In the end, I look for Donovan Mitchell to get the job done for the Cleveland Cavaliers and I look for Cleveland and not only pick up the victory here on Sunday, but also cover the spread as well.
