Betting Odds: Penn State ML (+155) - Over/Under (45.5)

Pick: Penn State ML (+155)

One of the biggest games of the college football regular season will take place this Saturday in Columbus as the Penn State Nittany Lions hit the road to play the Ohio State Buckeyes in one of the most anticipated games of the season. Both of these teams come into this game undefeated and one of them will come out as the front runner in the Big Ten East division and they will hold the inside track to making the college football playoffs this season as well. This should be a solid back-and-forth game like it is every single season when these two teams meet in the middle of the year and the team that comes out on top of this will put themselves in a great position for the remainder of the season.

The Penn State Nittany Lions have looked solid throughout the first seven weeks of the season, and they will be looking to get their biggest win to date here on Saturday afternoon against Ohio State. Quarterback Drew Allar looks like a star in the making and their two headed rushing attack of Nicholas Singleton, and Kaytron Allen have looked nearly unstoppable at times throughout the regular season. However, as previously mentioned, this is likely going to be their first real test of the season and they will need to find a way to overcome a solid Ohio State team if they want to remain undefeated and give themselves the inside track on the Big Ten East division, as well as a seat at the table when it comes to the college football playoffs this year.

Penn State will need to utilize their impressive ground game if they want to grab a victory here on Saturday afternoon against Ohio State and pick up what will easily be their best win of the season before they face their next test in the form of the Michigan Wolverines later on in the year. Penn State has looked like a well oiled machine on both sides of the football throughout the first seven weeks of the season and they will be hoping that the best version of their offense and defense show up in this game on the road in Columbus. Drew Allar will have to protect the football in this one, and make the necessary plays if Penn State wants to walk away with a much-needed victory here on Saturday to firmly establish themselves as a national championship contender.

With their victory over Notre Dame a few weeks ago, Ohio State put the country on notice and showed everybody that they are nobody to write off after people spent the entire year saying they would take a step back this season. Starting quarterback, Kyle McCord has solid over the last few weeks and he will be looking to put up another quality performance in this game as Ohio State looks to take down one of their competitors in the Big Ten here on Saturday afternoon at home and remain undefeated on the season.

Ohio State will have to flex their muscles on the defensive side of the football and stop Penn State's electric offense if they want to grab a victory in this game on Saturday afternoon at home and remain undefeated with only a few weeks to go before their end of year showdown with Michigan. Ohio State has already shown they can hang with some solid teams after beating Notre Dame and they will be looking to do it once again in this game against Penn State here on Saturday afternoon at home. They will have to utilize their trio of running backs here in this matchup as well to control the clock and the time of possession against Penn State if they want to pull out a victory and establish themselves as a legitimate college football playoff contender this season.

Betting trends to consider in this matchup:

- Penn State is 2-0 on the road

- Penn State is 3-0 in the Big Ten this season

- Penn State is 1-0 against ranked opponents

I look for this to be a close and competitive football game between two of the top teams in the country here on Saturday afternoon in Columbus. I look for Ohio State and Penn State to trade blows back and forth like two heavyweight boxers and in the end I think it’ll be Penn State that pulls off the upset victory on the road against the Ohio State Buckeyes. As I look for quarterback Drew Allar to get the job done when it matters most and lead Penn State to their biggest win of the season.
