As the Divisional Round comes up to the plate, the NFC East looks like they are the strongest division in the league. With 3 out of the last 4 teams in the NFC, they will certainly like their chances to have either the Cowboys, Eagles, or Giants punch a ticket to the Super Bowl. In this one, we will get a matchup between two teams that are familiar with each other, when the Giants travel into Philly to take on the Eagles.
In their most important game of the year, the Giants showed up to Minnesota and beat up on the division winning Vikings to end their stellar 13-4 season. Daniel Jones will look to continue off of the best game of his career, as he will play a crucial role in the Giants chance in making an upset here. Having covered 7 out of their last 8 games, they have been a tough team to put away all year, and it all starts at the top with Head Coach Brian Daboll. He has brought in a mentality to this team that they haven't had in years. It may not always be flashy, but with him at the helm, it never feels like they are out of games. They will need to massively improve on their run defense in this one, as they ranked 6th worst in the league in rushing yards let up. Jalen Hurts has had an extra week to heal up after coming off of his shoulder injury, so the Giants will need to be ready for their unique rushing attack in order to get Hurts in long-distance downs. Can Daboll lead his team to another upset on the road to continue on their fairytale Playoff run?

After starting the season off 13-1 and looking unbeatable for long stretches in games, Philadelphia lost 2 out of their last 3 games to finish the season 14-3, still earning themselves a first-round bye. They have been propelled by both sides of the ball, ranking 2nd in yards allowed against in the regular season, and 3rd in offensive yards gained per game. Quarterback, Jalen Hurts, has took an immense step this season. With the 4th best QBR in the league, he was in prime position to be in contention for the MVP before he got injured with a few weeks left in the season. The question is now, how healthy really is he as they get set to play the Giants on Saturday night. The Giants will hope he is still banged up, while the Eagles will try not to force him to have to do anything out of his comfort zone by building a big early lead. If New York can get to Hurts early, Philly may be in for a dog fight with a banged up QB, not a great recipe for a team looking to make a deep Playoff run.
A few betting trends to consider in this matchup:
- New York is 7-1 ATS as the away team
- New York is 11-2 ATS as an underdog
- New York is 14-4 ATS up to this point
- The Eagles are 5-7 ATS in Conference games
- The over has hit in 9 out of 13 games that the Eagles have played in after a win
In a rematch of the last game of the regular season, both sides will see several different faces as both teams gave some key players some rest, especially the Giants. Brian Daboll is quickly becoming one of the best coaches in the NFL, as he has taken this team that doesn't have as much talent as other Playoff teams have to within 2 games of the Super Bowl. The line opened at 7.5 in favor of the Eagles and hasn't budged a ton since, as it is still at this mark. I love getting the touchdown cushion with the Giants, as it opens up a backdoor cover at the end if needed. I think the G-Men have a better chance than most are giving them in winning this game. Hurts' status is really up in the air, even though the Eagles have said he looks 100% in practice, which plays into New York's hand. Give me the Giants to keep this one close, and maybe, just maybe, pull off a monstrous win on the road against their Division foes.
