Betting Odds: Orioles (-115) / Over/Under (9)
Pick: Orioles ML (-115)
As we inch closer to the weekend, lets head into American Family Field to check out the last game of the series between the Baltimore Orioles and Milwaukee Brewers.
Baltimore has hit a bit up a stump over the last ten games, going 4-6 over that span. Along with that, they have lost the first two games of the series against the Brewers, getting blown out by a score of 10-2 yesterday. Despite the poor form that they are in though, they still come into today's game with a mightily impressive 37-24 record. On the mound for them in the getaway game will be 26 year-old Kyle Bradish. In his second season with the Orioles, he has made the proper adjustments in order to be a solid cog in the rotation for the O's. After ending the year with a 4.90 ERA last year, he now sits with a 4.13 ERA coming into Thursday's game, a significant increase that has been apparent in each start. Nonetheless, Baltimore only has scored five runs over the last eighteen innings of baseball, so their bats will need to show up if they hope to salvage one in Milwaukee before they get on a plane and head home. Keep an eye on Adley Rutschman and Austin Hays to have big nights if the O's are able to come out hot.

Milwaukee is beginning to find their groove as they have now have a solid 7-3 record in their last ten games. This has kept them afloat atop the NL Central, with a 1.5 game lead on the Pittsburgh Pirates at the moment. In yesterday's beatdown on the Orioles, a plethora of things went right for the Brewers leading to the commanding win. But, most importantly for the Brew Crew faithful, Corbin Burnes had a Cy Young Corbin Burnes game, pitching 8.0 innings, letting up 0 earned runs, and striking out 9 along the way. If he is able to round into the man he was when he took home the prestigious award a few years ago, look out for Milwaukee to make some noise come Postseason time. On the flip side, hitting wise, Owen Miller has looked like one of the best trades of the offseason so far. In his first 152 at-bats this campaign, he is slashing .309 with 4 homers, 17 RBIs, and 8 stolen bases. I am not expecting him to be a .300 hitter all year long, but the Brewers are currently getting a version of him that we have never seen before.
Betting trends to consider in this matchup:
- Baltimore is 8-3 as the away favorite
- The Orioles are 20-12 on the road
- The under is 17-12-1 when the Brewers have been the underdog
As the line suggests, this one is gearing up to be a tight one in Wisconsin. Nevertheless, I am a complete fader of Colin Rea, who will be on the bump for the Brewers today, as he has looked completely mediocre all season long. The Orioles have too good of an offense to stay down for a whole series as well, especially against an inferior pitching matchup. Give me the O's to grab the last game of the series to feel good about themselves before heading home for a series with the Kansas City Royals!
