Thursday night brings us a crucial Game 2 in the Western Conference when the Los Angeles Lakers face off with the Golden State Warriors inside the Chase Center.
Los Angeles was able to throw the first punch on Tuesday night inside the Dubs arena, winning by a score of 117-112. Heading into tonight's game, they are playing with house money as they were already able to steal home-court advantage from the Warriors for the time being. In saying that though, the Lakers will be ready for Golden State to try and rile up their bunch early on to get the crowd rocking from the jump. In Game 1, Anthony Davis was the surefire star of the show, putting in 30 points on 19 shot attempts, and adding in a dominant 23 rebounds to go along with it. Expect the Warriors to try and limit a huge game from him in their hopes to stifle the Lakers' offense down the stretch. With the Lakers playing LeBron James off the ball more than ever seen in his lengthy career, can Head Coach Darvin Ham draw up another masterful performance from his squad?

Golden State is in a must-win situation after dropping the first one on their home floor a few nights back. Although everyone will talk about Jordan Poole missing a deep three with several seconds still left on the clock, as Draymond Green mentioned in his podcast, the game was lost in the possessions leading up to that one. Nevertheless, moving on to Game 2, the Dubs will need much more from Klay Thompson. In his last 3 games, he is shooting abysmally from the field (21-64). If Golden State wants any chance of repeating their Finals run last year, a rejuvenated Thompson will have to play a big role in that. Regarding their bench play, other than Poole, they have not been able to get any consistent productive minutes from anyone else. Even though the rotation is shrunk come Playoff time, somebody else will need to drill a few key shots at some point in this series.
Betting trends to consider in this matchup:
- L.A. is 5-2 ATS in Playoff games
- The Lakers are 11-5 ATS when playing on 2-3 days of rest
- Golden State is 20-26-1 ATS in games following a win
It seems as though every bettor in the world is on the Warriors tonight. How could they possibly go down 0-2 by dropping both games on their home floor? This is the question that many are asking and stating can not happen. However, I am going to bite on the Lakers once again as we are getting even more points in Game 2 than we were in Game 1. LeBron very rarely has 2 bad Playoff games in a row and tonight he will put on another show against a familiar foe in the Golden State Warriors. Give me the points with Los Angeles!
