Betting Odds: Jaguars ML (+100) - Over/Under (40)
Pick: Jaguars ML (+100)
Week seven of the National Football League season kicks off in New Orleans as the Saints host the Jacksonville Jaguars with both teams looking to pick up a crucial victory to kick off the week. Both of these teams look to be potential playoff teams about halfway through the regular season, and both of them will be looking for a statement win here on Thursday night as they both come in dealing with injuries to their starting quarterbacks, but both of them should likely play in this game, regardless of being banged up. These two teams actually match up quite well on the offensive and defensive side of the ball so this should be one of the best games of the primetime schedule this season.
It has been a respectable start to the season for the Jacksonville Jaguars as they have picked up four victories in their first six games of the year. Two of those games have come overseas in London and now they will be back on American soil, on the road in New Orleans to play the Saints here on Thursday night. The Jacksonville Jaguars will be looking to keep the momentum rolling and pick up their fifth victory of the season here on Thursday night to kickoff week number seven of 2023-24 National Football League season, as they look too further, establish themselves as contenders in the AFC South, and the AFC as a whole.
A victory would go a long way for Jacksonville in this game, as it would allow them to pull away from the other three teams within their division, who have been struggling throughout the first six weeks of the year. Quarterback Trevor Lawrence is dealing with a banged up knee and it is unknown how he will play in this game but all sign point to him giving it a go as of right now. Running back Travis Ettiene, who is Lawrence’s former Clemson teammate, has looked solid throughout the first six weeks of the season, and so has their wide array of wide receivers that has helped lead this offense to plenty of success throughout the early part of the year.

It has been a decent start to the season for the New Orleans Saints and they will be looking to pick up a crucial victory here on Thursday night at home. Quarterback Derek Carr is still dealing with a shoulder injury that he suffered several weeks ago but he will be likely playing in this game as he tries to bring New Orleans a huge win at home in this one. They have plenty of weapons on the offensive side of the football and they will have to use all those weapons if they want to grab a victory in this game as they will have to better utilize wide receiver Chris Olave, after he has struggled throughout the past couple of weeks to get involved in the passing game.
Swiss Army knife Taysom Hill factor heavily into the outcome of this game, he could be used as a potential quarterback in place of Carr, and Winston and catch the Jaguars off guard with his incredible speed and powerful arm. New Orleans will have to stop the Jaguars rushing and passing attack if they want to grab a victory in this game on Thursday night at home as they look to further establish themselves as the leading team in the NFC South division. At the moment, New Orleans sits in second place behind Tampa Bay in the division, and a win here would go a long way at gaining ground over the Buccaneers.
Betting trends to consider in this matchup:
- New Orleans is 2-3 as a favorite this season
- Jacksonville is 1-0 on the road this season
- Jacksonville is 2-1 after a win this season
I expect this to be a close and competitive team between two solid teams here on Thursday night to kickoff week seven of the season. But in the end, I think it’ll be the Jacksonville Jaguars that pull out the victory on the road in New Orleans as I think they have better weapons on the offensive side of the football and they will utilize them better than the New Orleans Saints will here on Thursday night. I expect this to be a high scoring game that ends within 7 to 10 points in favor of the Jacksonville, jaguars as Jacksonville grabs their fifth victory of the season.
