Wednesday night brings us an Eastern Conference clash between two squads who are looking to squeak their way into the Playoffs when the Indiana Pacers cross the border to face off with the Toronto Raptors.
Indiana is struggling at the wrong time. Having lost 3 out of their last 4 games SU (1-3 ATS), with 2 of those losses coming to the Hornets and Pistons, their chances of securing a Play-In spot are lessening by the day. Although they are currently on the outside looking in sitting 2.5 games back of the Chicago Bulls for the 10th spot with 10 games to go, anything can happen down the stretch, so this is just another opportunity for them to lay it all out on the line. If they are to do that, they’ll need to get superstar PG, Tyrese Haliburton some help. He has more than held his own over the last 4 games, scoring 29+ points in every game and having 10+ assists in 3/4 of them, but the Pacers have not been able to get a consistent other option to pair with him down the stretch yet. With the regular season coming to a close within the coming weeks, time will tell if the Pacers can put it together and make one last push toward that illustrious 10-seed.

Toronto was tough as nails against the Bucks in Milwaukee a few nights ago for 3 quarters, and then the 4th quarter came around and they hit a brick wall. Now sitting with a 35-37 record, every game is critical for them as they hope to put some distance in between them and the 11th seed (currently 2.5 games up on the Wizards.) Putting the abysmal 4th quarter to the side against the Bucks, the previous 3 games before that letdown was dominated by Toronto, having gone 3-0 SU and ATS, winning by a total of 47 points. One man who has elevated his game as the campaign heads into its crunch time are is VanVleet. At times this season, he has struggled to shoot for a high percentage, but that has not stopped him from continuing to craft his way on the court as he carries the Raptors on the offensive end into the Postseason. Last week, he put out one of the best performances in his career percentage-wise, scoring 36 points on 13-22 shooting from the field and 8-12 from deep. If the Raptors can continue to get him in his groove over this last stretch, they will like their chances in making a bit of noise in the Playoffs.
Betting trends to consider in this matchup:
- The Raptors are 18-11 ATS as a home favorite
- Toronto is 22-14 ATS as the home team
- Indiana is 1-3 ATS in their last 4 games
The Raptors have feasted on lesser opponents on their home floor all season. In what will be another game where Toronto will welcome a squad that is inferior to them, they will be ready to take care of home court and prevent themselves from the embarrassment of being swept in the season series by the Pacers. Give me Toronto to stifle the underwhelming Pacers in a blowout inside Scotiabank Arena!
