Tuesday night brings us down south to take a look at a Western Conference clash between the Golden State Warriors and the Oklahoma City Thunder inside the Paycom Center.
Golden State has been wildly inconsistent this year in large part due to the assortment of injuries that their stars have battled throughout the campaign up until now. After securing their 4th Championship win since 2015 against the Boston Celtics a few months ago, they have only managed to put up 34 wins inside their first 65 games played in the regular season. They have shown weaknesses inside their home arena, but the bulk of their bad play has come on the road, where they are an abysmal 7-24 SU away from the Chase Center. This horrid record was apparent in their last game as well, where their 5 game-win streak was on the line as they headed into L.A. to take on the Lakers. With an 8-point loss to the LeBron-less Lakers, they fell to the 4th worst record on the road in the entire NBA. If they are to head into Oklahoma City and steal one away from a team who is fighting for their Playoff lives, they are going to have to patch up their play on both sides of the floor overnight to do so.

Oklahoma City is hanging on by a thread in the Play-In race in the jam-packed Western Conference. They have been able to stay afloat through the elite play of superstar guard, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. He has progressively upped his scoring output for every year that he has been in the league, to the point where he is averaging 31.1 PPG this season, good for 5th in the NBA. If you have not been able to watch OKC a ton this year, I advise you to start doing so, as Gilgeous-Alexander is as close to must-watch TV as you'll ever see. It truly feels as though every time he has the ball down the floor he is going to get himself any shot that he wants. He has a tremendous uncanny ability to use his body to shift his way into open shots at all three levels which have allowed him and his team to have a solid season in comparison to prior years. With 2 key wins (2-0 ATS in that stretch) in their last 2 games played by a combined 37 points, the Thunder will need to bring their A-game if they want to make it 3 in a row against the defending champs.
Betting trends to consider in this matchup:
- Golden State is 7-24 SU away from home
- Oklahoma City is 26-15-3 ATS playing as the underdog
- The Thunder are 37-24-3 ATS on the year in all games
Golden State has been flat-out embarrassing on the road this year. Whether Curry has been in the lineup or not, they have not been able to get their act together. As they head out to Oklahoma City to face the Thunder on Tuesday night, I expect their road woes to continue as OKC will be battling to stay alive in the hunt for the 10 seed, which they are only 0.5 back of. Give me SGA to put on a show and keep his squad tight in a game that they desperately need.
