Betting Odds: Celtics (-4.5) / Over/Under (238.5)
Pick: Kings (+4.5)
Let's head out west to take a look at a thrilling battle between two of the NBA's best teams this year when the Boston Celtics fly into the Golden 1 Center to face off with the Sacramento Kings.
Boston has been in a bit of a slump lately, compared to what they were putting out on the floor earlier in the season. This mediocre play has dropped them to 2nd in the East. Over their last 10 games played, they are 5-5 SU (4-6 ATS) and have suffered disappointing losses to the Rockets and Nets in that stretch where they were heavy favorites. Despite the high standards that they have set and fallen short of late, getting and staying healthy will be their main goal as they get in position to make a deep run in the Playoffs as they did last year. If the superstar duo of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown can keep putting on the heroics, they will be a surefire tough out for any squad hoping to come out of the East on top. As they try to jump back into the conversation for the 1 seed before the season comes to a close with only 10 games left to play, can Boston stifle the high-flying Kings on their home floor?

Sacramento has been an utter revelation this season. I do not care what media outlet you looked at before the year began, not one of them pointed out the Kings as a team to watch in late March/early May in the Western Conference. Now that we are experiencing this sudden rise to the top of the West by them, it is outstanding to watch on a night-to-night basis. This matchup against the Celtics will be played on the 2nd night of a back-to-back, but they have yet to fall short of anything this year, so what makes you think no rest would stop them against the Eastern Conference Champs? The Kings, as always, will look to play through De'Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis, but the key contributions that they are getting from Kevin Huerter, Harrison Barnes, and Malik Monk, are what is setting them apart from the rest of the league at the moment. If they can rely on multiple secondary options come Playoff season to get them consistent buckets, keep an eye on the Kings to make some serious noise.
Betting trends to consider in this matchup:
- Sacramento is 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games played
- Boston is 1-3 ATS in their last 4 games played
- The Kings are 13-5 ATS when playing at a rest disadvantage to their opponents
Boston is a highly dominant squad, but with the way they are playing of late, this is just too many points to pass up on the home team. I know that the Kings will have to fly home from Utah after a late game against the Jazz the prior night, but they will want to defend their home court against one of the league's best on Primetime TV. Give me Fox and Sabonis to get it done inside the Golden 1 Center on Tuesday night!
