In a rematch of the NBA Finals last year, we will get an elite clash between two of the best teams in the NBA tonight on TNT, when the Golden State Warriors travel into TD Garden to take on the Boston Celtics.
Golden State has battled injuries all season, but is finally starting to get healthy as we gear up for the All-Star break. Although they sit in the 6 seed in the West right now, as their superstars continue to gain minutes back on the court, it is only up from here. If they are to recharge their season, it will have to be on the road, where they have improved on of late. They come into this game 5-17 on the road, ranking 2nd worst in the NBA only behind the Houston Rockets. Despite this, they have won 2 of their last 3 on the road, beating the Wizards and Spurs (2-1 ATS in this stretch). If they are going to give themselves any chance in this game in pulling their best win of the year off, they will have to defend much better than they have of late. If they come in with the same effort they put forth 2 games ago against the Bulls where they let up 132 points, they will surely be leaving Boston with an L. As Golden State gets all of their key pieces back in this Finals rematch, we will see if they are tuned for a mid-season turn around starting with this game.

Boston hasn't had the problems that Golden State has had so far as they lead the NBA in wins (33). They are currently on another big win streak, winning all of their last 7 games played and going 5-2 ATS in that stretch. The season started off rocky with the firing of Head Coach Ime Udoka who looked like he was going to be a mainstay in the organization for years to come, but they have adjusted in a good way to new Head Coach Joe Mazzulla and his style of play. As they sit 4 games ahead of the Bucks atop the East, they will look to extend their lead further in this one as they look for revenge against the Warriors. Jaylen Brown, who has missed the last three games, went through a full practice session yesterday and will most likely be active here. The Celtics still have a sour taste in their mouth from last years matchup in the Finals. They will look to be firing on all cylinders to gain some sort of pay back for that crucial loss in 6 games.
A few betting trends to consider in this matchup:
- Golden State is 5-16 ATS as the away team
- Boston is 19-13 ATS coming off of a win
- The Celtics are 17-12 on equal rest as the other team they are playing
This is a game where I see the Celtics having 2 days off to prepare for a beat down of the Warriors at home after they ended their season on their home floor last year. Whether the Dubs have Curry and Thompson back or not, it will take them a while to gain back the momentum that they have had in their Playoff runs in the past years. As I stated above, they have been abysmal SU and ATS on the road, and I don't see it stopping here. Give me Tatum to light up the scoreboard in a big win at home to increase the Celtics cushion on the top of the Eastern Conference.
