Betting Odds: Guardians ML (+110) - Over/Under (7.5)

Pick: Guardians ML (+110)

The Cleveland Guardians and the Toronto Blue Jays will play the third and final game of their three game weekend series north of the border in Canada on Sunday afternoon. This has been a pretty evenly matched series throughout the first two games with both teams picking up multi-run victories over the start of the weekend. One of them will secure the series victory with a second victory here on Sunday afternoon as they look to build up as much momentum as possible heading into the second half of the month. This is a game that could easily go either way here in Toronto on Sunday afternoon and it should be a close and competitive matchup between Cleveland and the Blue Jays.

Cleveland looked pretty uninspired during their game on Saturday against Toronto managing to give up a ton of early runs. That has been something Carlos Carrasco has struggled with throughout the entirety of the season and now that is something Ben Lively will look to avoid here in Sunday's finale. This is a great opportunity for Cleveland to bounce back and grab a series victory over Toronto on the road to kick off the second half of June, as they look to further extend their lead in the American League Central division over the Kansas City Royals.

Without Jose Ramirez for the remainder of this series and potentially into next week as well, it could be interesting to see how this Guardians lineup performs without their best hitter. If the game on Saturday afternoon was any indication of the way this team will play without Ramirez in the lineup, it could be a week without him as he is currently on the paternity list. They are hoping that Ben Lively can carry them throughout this game and pick up his seventh victory of the season as he has been a pretty effective starter for Cleveland throughout the early part of the year.

The Toronto Blue Jays picked up a much-needed victory at home on Saturday afternoon against Cleveland and now they will look to replicate that performance here on Sunday as well. This is another much-needed win for Toronto if they want to get their season back on track as they continue to crawl back towards the .500 mark coming into the end of June. Toronto put on a solid offensive display against Cleveland scoring a few crooked run innings throughout the contest to lead them to a comfortable victory in the middle game of this series.

It was a much needed offense outburst for a team that should arguably have one of the best lineups in baseball, but they have been rather sluggish throughout the early part of the season.

If this team can get to Cleveland’s pitching for a second consecutive game, then Toronto has an opportunity to win a much-needed series here on Sunday afternoon in front of their home fans. Jose Berrios gets the start for the Blue Jays in this game and he will come into this one to grab his victory of the season and turn around his performance throughout the early part of the year as well. Even with the absence of Jose Ramirez in this game, he will still have to deal with a pretty deadly lineup that will likely be frustrated after a less than impressive showing on Saturday. He will need to find a way to shut down the lakes of Josh Naylor, Steven Kwan, and David Fry throughout this game if Toronto wants to come away with the win.

Betting trends to consider in this matchup:

- Toronto is 17-21 against teams above .500

- Cleveland is 23-16 on the road

- Cleveland is 39-16 against teams below .500

I expect the Cleveland Guardians to grab a second victory over the Toronto Blue Jays here on Sunday afternoon in Toronto. Although the second game of the series on Saturday did not go their way, and Toronto picked up a blowout victory, I do look for Cleveland to bounce back here in the finale. As I still look for the Guardians offense to find their groove coming into the finale of this series after being shut out in game number two. I look for them to blow out in the finale here on Sunday and wrap up yet another series victory heading into the second half of June.
