Game Info: Wednesday, May 29th, 2024 at  8:40 p.m. EST (Coors Field)

Betting Odds: Guardians -1.5 (-105) - Over/Under (10.5)

Pick: Guardians -1.5 (-105)

The Cleveland Guardians and the Colorado Rockies will play the third and final game of their three game series here on Wednesday night at Coors Field. This has been a high scoring back-and-forth series throughout the first two games with both teams picking up a victory, and over 30 combined runs being scored between the two as well. Both Cleveland and Colorado will look to finish off the series with a victory to secure a series win here on Wednesday night at Coors Field. Grabbing a second victory in this will be a huge boost for which team comes out on top here on Wednesday night. After taking game number one, Colorado was unable to grab a second consecutive win, as Cleveland came out on top in a high scoring game 13 to 7 on Tuesday night.

Logan Allen will get the baseball for the Cleveland Guardians and the finale of this series on Wednesday night in Colorado. He comes into this game with six victories and two losses to his name throughout the early part of the season and he will look for his seventh victory of the year here in this one. A glaring issue he has had throughout the early part of the season is some inconsistency and he will look to lower his ERA throughout this start on Wednesday night. Although it is fair to say, that may be very hard to do at a hitter's ballpark like Colorado, where plenty of runs will be expected in the finale of this series.

Despite the fact that he will likely give up some runs in this game on Wednesday night he will do everything he can to shut down Colorado and guide Cleveland to a second consecutive victory to win the series. Cleveland was carried in their victory on Tuesday night by Josh Naylor, who hit a pair of home runs, including a go ahead home run late in the game to put the Guardians ahead for good. Naylor, along with the rest of Cleveland’s lineup will look to replicate their hot hitting performance over the last couple of weeks, as they look for a second consecutive victory, and they look to further extend their lead on top of the American League Central division as well.

The Colorado Rockies put up plenty of runs throughout the last two games, but they were unsuccessful in picking up a second consecutive victory on Tuesday. Now they will look to rebound here on Wednesday night in the finale of this series as they look to grab a massive series win over one of the best teams in baseball this season. It has been a rough go of things and it has not helped them, when you consider the toughest division in all of baseball or at least the most loaded division in all of baseball when they have to compete with the Los Angeles Dodgers.

This feels like a must win game for the Colorado Rockies as they virtually need to win every series from here on out if they want to be a competitive baseball team with an opportunity to make a postseason appearance to the end of the year. At the moment that is very unlikely and all signs point to them finishing in the basement of the division, and potentially the National League as well. Getting the ball for the Rockies on Wednesday night will be Ty Blanch and he comes into this game with a record of 1-2 on the season. He will desperately need to lower his ERA, and try to find a way to shutdown this Cleveland offense if he wants to be successful and pick up his second victory of the season.

Betting trends to consider in this matchup:

- Cleveland is 33-22 against the run line

- Cleveland is 19-12 against the run line on the road

- Cleveland is 22-14 against the run line after a win

I look for the Cleveland Guardians to grab the series clinching victory here on Wednesday night against the Colorado Rockies. Logan Allen has been successful against bad teams this season and I look for him to have another successful outing here in this one to wrap up this series on a positive note. Not only do I look for the Cleveland Guardians to pick up the victory on Wednesday, but I also look for them to cover the run line against the Colorado Rockies as well.
