Game Info: Tuesday, May 28th, 2024 at  8:40 p.m. EST (Coors Field)

Betting Odds: Guardians ML (-150) - Over/Under (10.5)

Pick: Guardians ML (-150)

The Cleveland Guardians and the Colorado Rockies will play the second game of a three game series here on Tuesday night at Coors Field. Colorado was able to snap Cleveland’s nine game winning streak with a six run inning early on in the game and they never looked back after Cleveland had an offensive outburst of their own throughout the first three innings. Now the Colorado Rockies will grab consecutive victory to clinch the series against Cleveland and head into Wednesday with an opportunity to sweep the Guardians. Meanwhile, Cleveland will get back into the series with a victory here on Tuesday and keep their hopes alive of winning the series and Wednesday’s finale.

Cleveland’s offense remained hot as they posted multiple runs throughout the early innings of this game once again. However, they were unable to shut down Colorado’s offense in a ballpark that is very hitter friendly. As they allowed the Rockies to post a crooked number in one inning with six runs crossing the plate and Cleveland was unable to catch up despite another scoring display late in the game. Xavien Curry was pretty rough on the mound, and that is something he will need to work on in his future outings if he wants to be successful this season.

Meanwhile, for the time being Cleveland will need to shut down Colorado’s offense throughout the final two games of this series if they want to keep their streak of series victories alive, heading into the start of June. Cleveland has been one of the hottest teams of baseball and they look back into the win column after having their nine game-winning streaks snapped on Monday afternoon. This will be a pivotal game for Cleveland as they cannot allow themselves to be derailed with the Kansas City Royals hot on their trail in the American League Central division.

The Colorado Rockies will look to replicate their offensive outburst in the second game of this series on Tuesday night to grab a second consecutive win against Cleveland. It has been a rough start to the season as they continue to fall farther and farther behind the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League West division, and they are basically out of playoff contention already. They will need to string plenty of victories if they want to get themselves back in a position to compete for a postseason appearance this season. However, that seems very unlikely, but they can at least get in the right direction with another victory over Cleveland at home here on Tuesday.

Triston McKenzie will be on the mound for Cleveland in this one, and he comes into this game with a record of 2-3 on the year. He will be looking to lower his 3.44 Earned Run Average with a respectable performance as he continues to deal with arm issues throughout the year. Meanwhile, Feltner get the baseball for Colorado and he is off to a rough start this season losing four out of his first five decisions. He will look for his second victory of the season as he aims to shut down a red hot Guardians offense here on Tuesday night at home. Both of these pitchers are in desperate need of a victory to get their season going in the right direction coming into this game.

Betting trends to consider in this matchup:

- Cleveland is 11-6 after a loss

- Cleveland is 26-13 in non-division games

- Cleveland is 23-10 as a favorite

I expect the Cleveland Guardians to get back into the wind column after having their nine game winning streak snapped in the opening game of this series on Monday afternoon. I look for Cleveland to bounce back in spectacular fashion in the second game of this series here on Tuesday night in Colorado. I expect much more of a pitcher's duel throughout the early innings here on Tuesday after 10 runs were scored throughout the first half of the game on Monday as well. But in the end, I look for Cleveland to come out on top to even up this series heading into Wednesday’s finale.
