After a thrilling opening contest on Monday night, Cleveland and Baltimore will meet for the second game of the series here on Tuesday night. Both of these teams are playing very different baseball at the moment as Cleveland is on a solid winning streak and Baltimore has been losing multiple games throughout the last week. This series has the potential to be a huge momentum boost for both teams and now here in game number two both teams will look to take the next step and pick up a victory before heading into the finale on Wednesday. In Cleveland’s case, they will officially clinch the series before heading into Wednesday and for Baltimore, they will look up the series and keep their opportunity to win the series in the finale.
In what was a pretty low scoring game throughout the middle and later innings Tanner Bibee settled in after a rough start to the game on Monday night. He was able to steer things straight and lead Cleveland to a respectable lead when he exited the game throughout the middle innings and the bullpen was able to get the job done once again. Even without Emmanuel Clase available for the opening of this series, the best bullpen in the American League was lights out against Baltimore's dangerous lineup. Now Cleveland will look to replicate that performance for the second consecutive game in this series on Tuesday night as they look to put this one to bed early and set up the opportunity for a sweep on Wednesday.
Cleveland has further established themselves as one of the best teams in baseball throughout the early part of the season and they are continuing to chase down New York for the best record in the American League. Logan Allen gets the ball for Cleveland and the second game of this series and he is having a successful year if you judge by his record. However, do not let his record fool you although he has racked up victories. He has been bailed out by the Cleveland offense time and time again this season. He has certainly had his struggles throughout the year and that is something he will need to improve if he wants to lead them to victory against Baltimore here in this one.

Baltimore had plenty of opportunities to get the job done throughout this game on Monday night and they came up short against Cleveland at home. It has been a recurring trend for Baltimore over the past week as they have been struggling to pick up victories and that is something they will need to snap out of throughout the rest of June and into July. Especially if they want to remain competitive in the American League division alongside the New York Yankees and the American League wildcard race, which they currently lead. However, that lead is quickly slipping away and that is not something they afford to happen throughout the end of June.
Cole Irvin gets the start for the Orioles here on Tuesday and he comes into this game with six victories to his name on the season. He will look to pick up his seventh victory of the year in what feels like a must win game for the Baltimore Orioles. He is the perfect guy to get Baltimore out of the slump as he has the ability to shut down a red hot Cleveland lineup throughout this game. If he can be successful at limiting the damage or holding them to a minimal amount of runs throughout this game, Baltimore should finally grab a much-needed victory in the second game of this series on Tuesday night.
Betting trends to consider in this matchup:
- Cleveland is 24-17 on the road
- Cleveland is 18-9 against teams above .500
- Cleveland is on a six game win streak
Much like the opening game of this series I am expecting a similar result here on Tuesday night in the second game. As I look for Cleveland to find a way to grab another victory over Baltimore on the road for a second consecutive upset of the Orioles. Jose Ramirez, Josh Naylor, and StevenKwan have all been the heart and soul of this team throughout the early part of the year, and I expect them all to record solid performance’s once again to lead their team to victory.
