Game Info: Saturday, April 27th, 2024 at 1 p.m. EST (Kia Center)
Betting Odds: Magic -2.5 (-110) - Over/Under (201.5)
Pick: Magic -2.5 (-110)
The Cleveland Cavaliers and the Orlando Magic will meet for the third game of this opening round series here on Saturday night at the Kia Center in Orlando. In the opening two games of the series, Cleveland picked up a pair of respectable victories back at home but in game number three the wheels fell off for the Cavaliers. Orlando picked up a blowout victory over Cleveland in the first game of the series at home and they will replicate that performance here on Saturday to even up the series before heading back to Cleveland for game five. Should be a solid game between Cleveland and Orlando, as Donovan Mitchell squares off with Paolo Banchero in a pivotal game number three to open up the NBA slate for the weekend.
The Cleveland Cavaliers will look the bounce back after an abysmal performance in the third game of this series earlier this week in Orlando. It was a complete change of pace from the dominance that Cleveland displayed in the opening two games of the series back at home and now they will have to readjust and not lose a second consecutive game. as they to keep as much momentum as possible before heading home to play game number five of the series in Cleveland. Had they picked up a victory this week in game three they could’ve put the Orlando magic on the brink of elimination coming into this game but now they have pretty much allowed Orlando right back into the series.
Cleveland can’t afford to lose a second consecutive game and all of them before heading home otherwise Cleveland could find themselves with a second consecutive early exit in the postseason. After a pair of solid games from Donovan Mitchell to open up the series, he was rather lackluster from start to finish in game three. That is something he will need to improve on if Cleveland wants to be successful here on Saturday night against the Magic. They also need to find a way to shut down Paolo Banchero throughout this game after two lackluster performances to open up the series, but an incredible showing in game three at home.

The Orlando Magic responded in a big way in the third game of the series earlier this week with a 30+ point victory over Cleveland. That is a performance that they will look to replicate throughout this game on Saturday night as they look even up this series before heading to Cleveland for game number five next week. This feels like a must win game for the Orlando Magic here in this one if they want to keep their hopes alive of advancing to the second round of the playoffs. Throughout both games in Cleveland Orlando never led in either of the two contests, and they made sure to put that narrative to rest with a strong first quarter on Thursday night.
Paolo Banchero put up an absolutely incredible performance throughout game number three after his solid start with 10+ points in the open quarter of the game. Following their 30 point victory, Orlando holds plenty of momentum coming into game number four of this series and they will look to parlay that momentum into a second victory against Cleveland. They will need to find a way to slow down Donovan Mitchell once again if they want to be successful as well as Darius Garland and Evan Mobley. If they can slow down or shut down the Cavs big three, then Orlando should come away with another blowout victory here on Saturday.
Betting trends to consider in this matchup:
- Orlando went 29-12 at home in the regular season
- Orlando went 30-12 vs the East
- Cleveland is 8-14 as a road underdog
I am expecting a close and competitive match up here on Saturday at the Kia Center. As I looked for this game to be a little bit more competitive than the third game of the series on Thursday. However, I am still looking for the same result to come out of this contest, as I look for the Orlando Magic to pick up the victory and even up this series against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Not only do I look for Orlando to pick up the victory here in this game, I also look for the Orlando Magic to cover the spread in the process.
