Betting Odds: Jaguars -9.5 (-110) - Over/Under (39.5)

Pick: Jaguars -9.5 (-110)

Monday night takes us to beautiful Jacksonville where the Cincinnati Bengals head south to play the Jacksonville Jaguars. Both of these teams had very high expectations coming into the regular season but only the Jacksonville Jaguars have lived up to those expectations throughout the first 12 weeks of the year. The Cincinnati Bengals have been a disappointment thanks to several injuries to keep players throughout the season and they come into this game looking to pull off a huge upset. When the season was announced, many people had this game circled, as a potential playoff altering matchup, and this game is almost meaningless outside of Jacksonville looking for another victory to win the division and make a statement heading into the back half of the regular season.

The Cincinnati Bengals had very high hopes coming into the regular season, but injuries have derailed their plan and they now sit under .500 through their first 11 games of the year. They have been without Joe Burrow for a couple of weeks now, and they have been unsuccessful without him in the lineup. That trend will likely continue throughout this game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, and throughout the last five weeks of the regular season as well. Cincinnati looks like an entirely different team without Joe Burrow under center, and they have also been dealing with injuries to Higgins and several other key players as well.

It is unfortunate for a team that had aspirations of making a run to the AFC championship game and potentially another Super Bowl prior to the season beginning. However, the reality of it is, they will get a higher draft pick, and they will likely come back next year, even better, and reloaded, which could be bad news for the other 15 teams in the AFC and the other 31 teams in the NFL. Cincinnati comes into this game in the middle of a three game losing streak after dropping a heartbreaker to the Pittsburgh Steelers last weekend, and they will be looking to gain some momentum and break that streak with a victory here on Monday night in Florida.

The Jacksonville Jaguars have been successful this season and they are the only team out of the AFC South that will likely finish with a respectable record this year. Victory in this game would give them a little bit of a cushion over the Houston Texans who are now right on their heels for the AFC South division title heading into the final five weeks of the regular season. That is something that seemed rather unlikely earlier this season and even up to three weeks ago when Houston was on the ropes before they started putting together quality performances week in and week out. They have plenty of momentum coming into this game as they have picked up four victories and their previous five games and they are a very hard team to beat at home.

Jacksonville will be looking to put together a quality performance against Cincinnati here on Monday night at home, despite some potential injuries to some of their key players like their starting running back. Jacksonville comes into this game with eight victories through their first 11 games of the regular season and a victory in this game would put them one step closer to clinching the division and getting themselves a spot at the top of the AFC standings. heading into the final five weeks of the regular season. The consistency of Trevor Lawrence is a huge reason why Jacksonville finds themselves five games above .500 coming into this game on Monday night and he will be looking to deliver another quality performance here in this one as well.

Betting trends to consider in this matchup:

- Jacksonville is 5-2 after a win

- Cincinnati is 2-3 after a loss

- Cincinnati is 2-3 on the road

I don’t see this game being relatively close by the time the final whistle comes around as I look for the Jacksonville Jaguars to pick up a comfortable victory here on Monday night. Jacksonville has a massive home-field advantage and they are one of the toughest teams in the league to beat at home and I expect that to be the case here in this game against the Cincinnati Bengals. I just don’t think Cincinnati can hang with a team like Jacksonville without Joe Burrow, behind Center, starting at the quarterback position. I expect this game to be all Jaguars, as I look for Jacksonville and not only pick up a comfortable victory at home but also cover the spread in the process.
