Betting Odds: Warriors (-1) / Over/Under (240)
Pick: Kings (+1)
Let's head out West to Sacramento to take a deeper look at the 2nd game of the series between the Warriors and Kings, with the Kings drawing first blood last time out.
Golden State continued its laughable form on the road this season by losing game 1 by a score of 126-123. Almost every team will end the regular season with a better record at home than on the road, but the gap in the win percentage for the two for the Warriors is quite shocking when you see that they have not had a roster turnover from last year. In game 1, they were not able to flex their muscle on the defensive side of the ball in the key moments of the game, allowing De'Aaron Fox to put up an impressive 38 points on 27 shots. If they are to steal one on the road before they head back to the Chase Center, they will need to tighten the screws in front of their basket. On the offensive side of things, they faired well to find open spots all night long. Nevertheless, they could not knock down enough shots from the 3-point line to keep up until the end with the high-flying Kings offense.

Sacramento is truly one of the most exciting teams to watch in the league. Their offense is fast-paced, their fans are loud as ever, and all in all, they just are an easy team to get behind and root for from a neutral perspective. Now that they have made the Playoffs for the first time in what feels like forever, and have been able to get a 1-0 series lead, they will surely have their sites on high expectations as the Playoffs move along. Although Fox and Sabonis run the show the majority of the time, Malik Monk and Trey Lyles combined for 48 points off the bench on Saturday night. If they can replicate that as the series progresses, the Warriors will be heading home shortly. In what should be a lengthy affair between the two squads, expect the Warriors to bring their best effort on Monday night. Can the Kings hold off the defending champs on their home court to head to the Chase Center with a 2-0 lead?
Betting trends to consider in this matchup:
- Golden State is 11-30 ATS as the away team
- The Kings are 12-5 ATS when playing Division opponents
- Sacramento is 24-13-1 ATS when playing on equal rest as their opponent
I have been high on the Kings all year long, so why should we stop now? I find this line a bit disrespectful in the first place and will be jumping all over it as fast as I can before the line changes at all. The Kings have played excellent ball at home all year long and the Warriors have been historically bad on the road. I understand that the Playoffs are a different brand of basketball, but I can not just throw to the side how poor the Dubs have been away from the Chase Center. Give me the Kings to take the 2-0 series lead and Light The Beam one more time!
