Two teams on very different ends of the spectrum of the Eastern Conference will meet here on Monday night in Cleveland. As the Charlotte Hornets have been one of the worst teams in the NBA, this season in Cleveland has been near the top tier of the conference throughout the majority of the season. It should be an interesting game when they lock up here on Monday night with the NBA season quickly coming to a close. Both teams are clearly heading in very different directions going into the postseason, but Cleveland has been playing as of late Charlotte could pull off the upset here on the road on Monday night.
The Charlotte Hornets have been absolutely dreadful this season, despite coming into the year with expectations of grabbing a playoff spot. That has been anything, but the case, as they have easily been one of the worst teams in the NBA, and they rebuild, will likely continue well into the future at this rate. As there seems to be no end in sight for the misery of the Charlotte Hornets franchise and many people are even saying a change in ownership away from Michael Jordan might be needed at this point.
They have consistently been one of the worst teams in the NBA, despite getting some high draft picks and bringing in some key pieces. However, it just has not translated to success on the court up until this point. Charlotte comes into this game with only 17 victories through there for 70 games of the season and it is very unlikely that they hit the 21 mark in the remaining 12 games. It has been a long and frustrating season for Charlotte, and they will likely once again have another high draft pick and another opportunity to improve their team over the off-season.

Cleveland has been tremendous throughout the year but they have been struggling as of late dealing with several injuries to key players. They will look to get back on track before heading into the postseason as they look to avoid a second consecutive first round exit as a favorite. Coming out of the new year Cleveland was the hottest team in the NBA but they have been losing their footing as of late. They are coming off the game where they were blown out by Miami on Sunday, and they will be looking to bounce back with a quality performance here on Monday night against a struggling Charlotte Hornets team.
Cleveland comes into this game with 43 victories through their first 71 games of the season and with 11 games to go they will look to hit the 50 win mark. If they can reach that 50 win mark it would likely guarantee them a top three seed in the Eastern Conference, and give them home-court advantage throughout the first and potentially second round as well. Cleveland will look to get back on track as Donovan Mitchell, Evan Mobley, and Darius Garland have been dealing with injuries at various times throughout the season. However, Cleveland will need them primed and ready to go for the playoff run so it is unlikely that they play much coming down the final stretch of the year as well.

They have been so tough to beat at home this season, and I look for that trend to continue with a solid victory.
