The Boston Celtics put together yet another incredible performance throughout game number three of this series and they are now on the doorstep of winning their 18th overall NBA championship. Boston has looked fantastic throughout the entirety of the postseason and they are one away from claiming the title for the first time since 2008 and they will look to finish the job here in Dallas on Friday night. Much like game number three earlier this week, this is a must win game for the Dallas Mavericks as they look to get back into the series here at home in game number four on Friday night. The only difference this time around is, if Dallas fails to pick up the victory over the Boston Celtics there will not be another game and the season will be over. The Dallas Mavericks come into this game with their backs against the wall and they must win the final four games of the series if they want to complete the improbable comeback and win the title. It is something that has never been done in the history of this current NBA playoff format, as no team has ever come back from a three to nothing deficit in any round.
The Dallas Mavericks were able to hold their own throughout the majority of game three but a late charging call on Luka. Dončić put him out for the remainder of the game and essentially sealed the fate for Dallas. Despite solid performances from Kyrie Irving and Luka Dončić before Dallas was unable to overcome the Celtics superior offensive strength throughout game three. There is something that has been a problem for the Dallas Mavericks throughout the entirety of this series and that’ll likely be a problem once again here on Friday night as Boston looks to shut the door on the Dallas Mavericks season. Dallas will need to find a way to dig deep and pick up a much-needed victory here on Friday if they want to take the series back to Boston next week.
