Saturday night brings us a crucial Game 6 in the Eastern Conference Finals between the Boston Celtics and Miami Heat, with the Celtics looking to get one step closer to completing the first 0-3 comeback in NBA History.
Boston comes into Saturday night's encounter as a short favorite on the road after stringing together two wins in a row to put all of the pressure on the Heat in Game 6 inside their home arena. After a miserable first three games in the series where it seemed as though they couldn't hit a single shot when they needed it most, the Celtics have seemed to find their rhythm at the right time. In Game 5 inside TD Garden, the Celtics were able to use a 35-20 first quarter to keep them afloat for the rest of the game to ward off the Heat. Heading into Game 6, all of the pressure in the world will now be flipped to Miami, as this will be their last opportunity to close the series out on their home floor. If they are not able to do so, the Celtics will absolutely love their chances of closing a Game 7 out in their home arena in front of an explosive crowd. They are to be smart and not look ahead at that possibility though, as the Heat will be raring to amend their previous two losses.

Miami should be looking at this game as if it were a Game 7 in my eyes, as they would not like to have to experience a true Game 7 in Boston after blowing a 3-0 lead. If they are to close the Celtics out tonight, their eyes should be set on the offensive side of the ball. In Games 1-3, they scored 110+ points in each of those games. Looking at their outputs in Games 4-5 though, they were not able to eclipse the 100 point mark in either of those games. With the way the Celtics offense is clicking of late, if the Heat want any chance at a possibility of winning this one, getting back to the 110+ range will give them a great chance at doing that. That will all start with Jimmy Butler and his ability to control the game when he is playing at his flow. In Game 4, he only scored 14 points, with 5 rebounds and 5 assists, which were all his low's or tied low's for the series. Despite the fact that he did not shoot poorly from the field, he will need to be more aggressive early for Miami to not fall in too deep of a hole heading into the second half.
Betting trends to consider in this matchup:
- Miami is 6-2 ATS when playing as the home underdog
- The Heat are 11-5 ATS in the Playoffs
- The over is 11-7 in Playoff games that the Celtics have been apart of
Everyone seems to have already called this series over with the Celtics finally in striking distance to make some real noise. I am not going to jump on that bandwagon though. Butler is going to come out determined tonight and deliver a historic performance in front of the Miami crowd to end the Celtics' season and to punch his squads ticket to the NBA Finals for an enticing matchup with the Denver Nuggets.
